A Passable Gallery

common_gallery.png

Remnants of an artist’s gallery and workspace along a common commuter footpath.

The overpass provides shelter from rain and sun for the gallery space. Light streaming through a break in the overpass provides a working space, evident by the increased paint marks. The well traveled public sidewalk provides foot traffic that could be converted to customers. And the free rent is a bit useful.

While not a designated use for this public sidewalk and fence, it seems no one sought to enforce city codes and regulations against the artist.

What happens when another artist similarly decides this space sounds rather useful? What would be the tragic part of the tragedy of the commons?
