Boxes, Milk Crates, and Benches
Spontaneous organization amidst bolted down benches.
The actual communal interaction and use of the park conflicts with its permanent design. The boxes and milk crates, with persons facing inwards, is in contrast with the empty benches facing outwards. The produce markets nearby make the boxes and milk crates low transaction cost solutions.
I mean, if one wanted to quote Hayek about the curious task of economics this would probably be a good place to do it.
